Introducing your Bred & Owned and Showmanship Judge, Kolten Thigpen!
Kolten Thigpen grew up in Hondo, Texas where his family owned and operated Pearsall Livestock Auction. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a bachelor's degree in animal science and was a linebacker for the fighting Texas Aggie football team. He then became a herdsman for the V8 Ranch, where he enjoyed the opportunity to show cattle across the nation and judge them. Kolten and his wife Sarah and son Lawson do not reside in Sweetwater, Texas where they run QB Cattle Company, their show cattle business, and Bullnanza Stud Services in both Sweetwater, Texas, and Stillwater, Oklahoma. Kolten has had the opportunity to judge cattle coast to coast and is honored to be judging this year's 2023 Texas State Show!  

Introducing your 2023 Texas State Show Owned Show Judges - Jared Bain & Bailey Wesner 

Jared Bain is a resident in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Jared grew up on his family farm in Noble County, Oklahoma. He and his family raised registered Chiangus and Chianina Influenced cattle. While showing and raising cattle they also had a diversified crop production program on the farm. Jared obtained his degree from Oklahoma State University, and before attending OSU he competitively judged on the Livestock judging team at Northern Oklahoma College. Jared's undergraduate and graduate studies were in Agriculture Education.
Jared eventually returned back to his roots in the cattle industry, were he has worked in various types of cattle operations; anything from club calf, registered purebred cattle as well as commercial backgrounds. He currently owns and operates Bain Cattle Services where he consults, sells and provides services for breeders and customers. Jared has evaluated cattle including county fairs to national heifer shows across the nation from Maine to south Texas.
Additionally, he helps youth around the nation with their cattle projects which have resulted in numerous national champions on the state and national levels. Jared enjoys giving back to the agriculture industry and assisting the youth.

Bailey Wesner grew up on a registered Simmental and Sim-Angus cattle operation in Chalmers, Indianna. There family raised and competitively exhibited cattle on a local, state, and national level. Bailey and her family have raised many influential breed leading sires and donors under the WLE Prefix.
Collegiately, she attended attended Lake Land College where she was a member of their highly successful livestock judging team while receiving an associates degree in Animal Science. Upon graduation, Bailey went on to pursue her dreams as a licensed cosmetologist, where she is now operating her own successful business, High Noon Hair. Bailey's love for the cattle industry continues with her small herd of Simmental and club calf cattle.
She loves working with the youth and giving back to the industry that has done so much for her. She has judged numerous shows across the country from county fairs, state shows, and most recently at the Oklahoma Youth Expo. 

Jared & Bailey are excited to be judging the Owned Show at the Texas State Show.

Thank you to everyone who helped raise money in honor of Maybree Oxtoby who has Cerebral Palsy. A total of $326.34 was raised to go to the Shriner Hospital for her!
